Kathy Harbinson Hardison

She was born October 5, 1952 in Catawba County to the late Harry Lee Harbinson, Sr and Annie Louise Hinkle Harbinson.

She graduated from Maiden High School, where she was salutatorian of her graduating class. She also graduated from Wingate University and Appalachian State University. She spent her career in public service, working over 45 years for the NC Department of Health and Human Services. She was awarded the Order of the Long Leaf Pine for her exemplary service and exceptional accomplishments. She developed and implemented many of the programs for Social Services and Public Health that are used by local and state governments.

Kathy was talented, smart, personable and kind and was always smiling and laughing. She loved her family and her friends that she made through work and college.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Louise Harbinson of Maiden, NC and brother, Harry Lee (Chipper) Harbinson, Jr of Maiden, NC.

Those left to cherish her memories are her husband Richard (Rick) Hardison of the home, son Dylan (Jessie) Hardison, grandchildren Hailey, Jenna, Amy and Lucy of Kinston, NC, Brother Danny (Jaime) Harbinson of Maiden, Niece Danielle (Tom) Moore of Charleston, Niece Chloe (Rush) Padgett and great niece Tawanna of Shelby, Nephew Cameron (Avery) Keller and great nephew Waylon, Nephew William Harbinson of Conover, Paternal Uncle and Aunt Reverend JA and Geraldine Harbinson of Charlotte, Maternal Aunt Carolyn Henkle of Lincolnton, and numerous cousins who were so dear to her.
