Judith Ann (Andrews) Dolan, born 1941 in Brownville Junction, Maine to parents Dorothy & Phillip Andrews. Loving wife to David J. Dolan, mother to David J. Dolan Jr., and Nena to James, Lillie Ann, Jonathan and Alysha of North Carolina and Chrissy Walter and great grandmother to Emery Jade Cuellar, passed away December 6, 2022, after a sudden medical event. With her passing she joins her mother, brothers Roger and Dale and sister Dotty.
Jude met the man she would spend her life with, in a typing class and then at a dance at a local social club in their hometown. She told him he had to go home and watch American Bandstand to learn how to dance and get rid of the bus tickets and to have a car before she would date him. The next week he came back with his dad's car and some moves that obviously worked for her, as they got married right out of high school and were together until her passing.
Dave joined the Marines, and their life of travel and adventure began. They traveled all over the world, while overseas their son David Jr. was born in Naples, Italy in 1966 and a short time later they were back in the states. They lived in Texas, Florida, San Francisco, and Massachusetts, it was here that Jude got her driver's license, at the age of 30. She would drive a VW Bug stick shift on the streets of Boston and finally to North Carolina, this is where Jude planted her roots down and said no to moving again. She told Dave he could go but she was staying put, that was in 1980.
Jude managed her career as an accountant and money manager for many high-end builders in the Raleigh Triangle, which allowed her to hone her thriftiness and talent with numbers, all while supporting her family and friends with anything anyone needed.
After retirement she devoted herself to her grandchildren and her husband. Jude will be sorely missed by all whose lives she touched.
A visitation for Judith will be held Saturday, December 10, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Mitchell Funeral Home at Raleigh Memorial Park, 7209 Glenwood Ave, Raleigh, NC 27612, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM with internment following at Raleigh Memorial Park.
