Jodi was born in Wilmington, Delaware on March 30, 1966. She was the youngest of five children born to Laurice and George Tillottson. At an early age, Jodi was taught by her parents to strive with enthusiasm and joy in all that she did. They taught her strength, independence and love of family. You only had to see the beauty of her smile to know that she could overcome any obstacle set before her. To her, it wasn’t about the goal, it was about the process. She loved to organize family gatherings: Beach trips, Thanksgiving Dinners, Christmas get-togethers, and above all, scheduling trips for away games to watch her sons’ athletic events. Particularly fun for Jodi was spur of the moment pool parties and cookouts with Friends & Family on any given Sunday.
Her gift of family organization skills paid off in the work place, too. Jodi was Senior Traffic Consultant for Blue Cross/Blue Shield. So respected by her bosses and her peers, she recently was recognized for her work ethic, receiving Special Recognition for exemplary work: “You are a great example of BC/BS values.” Still, despite loving her work, her favorite letters were TGIF. Family always came first.
Jodi was preceded in death by her father, George Tillottson, and mother, Laurice Tillottson, and an older sister, Georgia Sheridan. She is survived by her adoring family: her husband Don McKeon, her sons Scott and Troy; her sister, Barbara Stallings; and her brothers Tom and Jeff Tillottson. And all the nephews and nieces and in-laws and cousins and friends whose lives she touched. Her heart had room for them all.
Jodi, you were our Tree of Life, and you will always be a living record of our memories. It reminds us how much we loved you for being an amazing wife, mother and friend—Now and forever.
“May Flights of Angels Sing Thee to Thy Rest.”
