Janine Patry Caron

Janine Patry Caron, age 83, passed away with her family at her side on May 11, 2023 in the comfortable care of Hock Family Pavilion in Durham, North Carolina. Born on May 5, 1940 in Fall River, Massachusetts; she was the daughter of the late David A. Patry and Ida Poirier Patry.

She is lovingly remembered by her husband of 62 years (not counting 4 years of dating): Robert R. “Bob” Caron; four daughters: Diane Pepper (Michael) of Gaithersburg, MD, Michelle Hill (William) of Boyds, MD, Paulette Caron (Dale Lowman) of Frederick, MD, and Monique Luihn (Steven) of Durham, NC. She is also survived by six grandchildren: Nicole Solich, Emily Murphy, David Beall, Robert Hill, Melissa Plunkett, and Erika Hill; and four great-grandchildren: Harlee Beall, Henry Solich, Shay Murphy, and Susan Solich. In addition, she is survived by her sister, Rena Duff, of St. Clairsville, OH.

She met the love of her life, Bob, in the Fall of 1956, and they married in 1961. They spent over 60 years traveling the world with family and friends.

Janine graduated from Stonehill College before embarking on her career as a military spouse and stay-at-home mom. She was an accomplished seamstress, knitter, and needleworker. It is rare to find a family member or friend who did not receive something handmade from her.

A Funeral Mass was held at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Friday, May 19th.
