James was a resident of Anderson, SC at the time of his death. He was born in Latrobe, PA. on January 26, 1944. He worked in the technical and manufacturing field and was a Veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard, where he served during the Vietnam War.
He is survived by his wife, Joy Yanoff; his three children, two stepchildren and 5 grandchildren, Chris Thompson (son), John Thompson (son), Jamie Thompson (daughter), Jason Yanoff (stepson), and Marla Morgan (stepdaughter).
A graveside service with military honors will be held on Friday, February 2nd at 1pm at Zebulon City Cemetery, 411 E. Stronach Ave. Zebulon, NC (located at the corner of E. Stronach Ave and N. Whitley St.).
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to a veteran's charity in James' memory.
