James Carlton McLamb, 56, passed away Friday, April 16, 2010. Jim, as he was known to his friends and family, was born and raised in Clinton, North Carolina. As a teenager, he earned his Eagle Scout. After graduating from Clinton High School as valedictorian in 1971, he attended Wake Forest University, where he graduated with a B.A. in History in 1975. Jim was a loving father and devoted member of Ridge Road Baptist Church and the Wake Forest University Deacon Club.
He was the son of the late E.C. “Tommy” and Edna McLamb. He is survived by his son, J. Carr McLamb, Jr., of Raleigh and his daughter, Sarah Nelson McLamb, of Wilmington, North Carolina.
The family will receive friends on Monday ,April 19, 2010 from 6 – 8 p.m. at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 300 St. Mary’s Street , Raleigh. Funeral services will be held at Ridge Road Baptist Church on Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at 4:30 p.m. at the Clinton Cemetery in Clinton, North Carolina.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ridge Road Baptist Church, 2011 Ridge Road, Raleigh, NC 27607.
