With great peace and grace, Helen Logan died at the age of 98. She was born in Rockingham, NC, lived in Hamlet and Kannapolis, but spent most of her life in Raleigh. Helen was the widow of Robert “Bob” M. Logan, the founder of Logan Trading Company in Raleigh.
Helen was a wonderful mother to six children; Jacquelyn Logan, of Wake Forest, Linda O’Keeffe (John), of Raleigh, Robert Logan, Jr. (Julie), of Raleigh, Janet Bowers (Perry), of Columbia, SC, Rita Bristow (Chip), of Wilton, and Debby Rodden (David), of Fuquay Varina; twelve grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Her quiet gentle strength was admired by all that knew and loved her. She was such a powerful example of how to live for her family.
Her parents were Charles Sank and Martha Ridenhour Chisholm. She was the oldest of nine children and is also survived by a sister, Margaret “Molly” Barnard.
Helen’s children are deeply grateful to Barbara Dozier and Jeannie Edwards for their faithful and priceless care for several years, also the caring staff at Mayview and Whitaker Glen Retirement Center, and finally to the wonderful staff at Hospice of Wake County.
