Griffin Alexander Parks passed away on Saturday, December 10, 2016. He was the son of John Rouss Parks, Jr. and Sharon Regi Parks of Raleigh. Griffin is survived by his loving sister, Amanda Marie Parks, Aunts: Mary Martha Parks, Janice Wrenn and family, and Patricia Lovelace and family.
Griffin was born in Raleigh on January 20, 1995. He attended Baileywick Elementary, West Millbrook Middle and Leesville High Schools. He had a passion for all sports with basketball and football as his favorites. He played basketball in A. E. Finley YMCA, Upward, North Raleigh Basketball Association and St Francis of Assisi leagues during his childhood. He accomplished a black belt in Tae Kwan Do from Lee Brothers on Falls of Neuse Rd. and was taking kickboxing classes. Other passions were X-box, watching UFC with friends and being a NCSTATE fan through thick and thin like his father and grandfather.
Griffin was free spirited, confident, always smiling and had a laugh that touched many. He will be dearly missed by family and friends. As a Donald Trump supporter, Griffin believed “He would make America Great Again”. Donald Trump will be inaugurated on what would have been his 22nd birthday, January 20, 2017.
A visitation will be held on Saturday December 17, 2016, at 2:00 pm at Mitchell’s Funeral Home on Glenwood Ave. with a service to follow at 4:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution in Griffin’s name to the A.E. Finley YMCA Baileywick Rd or Lee Brothers’ Tae Kwan Do on Falls of Neuse Rd.
