Gloria Caquatto Bannister

Gloria Caquatto Bannister, age 77, of Raleigh NC lost her battle with cancer on October 8th, 2024 at UNC Rex Hospital in Raleigh. Gloria was born on March 2nd, 1947 in Pittsburgh, PA, to Anthony Caquatto and his wife Madeline Caquatto (née Antonioli). She attended school in Pittsburgh, graduating from Baldwin High School, and continuing her education at Carnegie Mellon University. Gloria dedicated her life to family and friends. She enjoyed reading, crafting, volunteering, spending time with loved ones, fishing on the beach of Pine Knoll Shores, NC, conquering tax codes, and telling silly jokes to everyone she met. Her contributions to schools of the Catholic Diocese of Raleigh spanned four decades and will be remembered fondly.

Gloria was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She is survived by her husband, Robert E. Bannister; son Christopher E. Bannister of Raleigh; daughter Heather B. Henry (née Bannister), husband Matthew E. Henry, and granddaughter Madeline A. Henry of Falls Church, VA; son David E. Bannister, wife Jennifer L. Bannister (née Moore), and grandson Liam A. Bannister of Apex, NC; and son Vincent E. Bannister and wife Mona Bannister (née Taebipour) of Raleigh, NC. She is also survived by her sister Norma M. Caquatto of Pittsburgh, PA.

A celebration of life will be held Thursday, October 17th, 2024 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 919-876-6900, 1701 E Millbrook Road, Raleigh, North Carolina 27609. Liturgy of the Word will take place Friday, October 18th, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Saint Raphael Catholic Church, 919-865-5700 5801 Falls of Neuse Rd, Raleigh, NC 27609, with inurnment to follow.
