Georgea was born in Raleigh on June 10, 1945, the only child of Louise and Donald Wilson. She grew up in Raleigh and spent most of her life here, living for years in her beloved family home, built by grandparents George and Marie White in 1918.
Her occupations in adulthood were as varied as her interests: She worked with animals, ran an auction house, worked retail, restored and retouched photographs – but her favorite profession was photography, and she amassed a beautiful collection of antique cameras over the years. As a young woman she also rode horses and skydived, but as her health declined, she spent time studying the Bible, learning Hebrew, and knitting for her family. Genealogy was a long-held interest of hers, and she was a member of the National Society of Magna Charta Dames and Daughters of the American Revolution.
Georgea is predeceased by her parents and partner, Luke Huggins.
Immediate survivors include her son, George Norris, and his wife, Jeannie, of Raleigh, and her grandchildren, Liam and Anne Elise Norris.
A graveside service will be held at Oakwood Cemetery in Raleigh on Saturday, March 2, at 11 a.m.
