Douglas Conan Doyle

Doug was born March 1, 1953 to the late Helen Virginia Finch and William Conan Doyle in Raleigh, NC. He graduated from Needham B. Broughton High School. Upon graduation, Doug attended East Carolina University, where he was a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity. He graduated from ECU, and remained an avid supporter and a member of the Pirate Club for over 40 years.

Doug was employed in the convenience store industry for over 45 years, retiring as Franchise Development Manager with Circle K Convenience Stores. He cherished the friendships he established with his relatives, neighbors, fraternity brothers, and work colleagues. Doug enjoyed playing golf, going to the beach, and spending time with his grandson. Doug was a loving and devoted son, husband, father, and grandfather, and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

In addition to his wife of 43 years, Doug is survived by his daughter, Sydney Doyle Breuer, and her husband, Kyle; grandson, Luke Eric Breuer; sister, Donna Doyle Meyerhoffer, and her husband, Harold; Sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Christie and Frank Janssen; sister-in-law, Brook Masters; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, Doug was preceded in death by his sister, Judith Doyle Utley, and his brother-in-law, John Utley.

A Celebration of Doug’s life was held on Monday, September 12, 2022 in the Chapel of Mitchell Funeral Home, Raleigh. Officiating was Rev. Curtis Finch.
