David, native to Omaha, Nebraska, was born October 13, 1940, to the late David W. Chadwell, Sr, and Eva (Reis) Chadwell. David was a graduate of Westside High School, where he played football and baseball and fostered life-long friendships. From high school, David joined the Carpenter’s Union in Omaha; his second career was Investigator, Douglas County Public Defender’s Office. After retirement, David resided in Detroit Lakes, MN, before moving to Raleigh, North Carolina.
David is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sheila Kay (Waters), sister in law Cheryl Chadwell, and nephew John C. Chadwell, Jr. He is survived by daughters Joyce (Chadwell) Campbell, and Theresa (Dan) Martin, and grandchildren Ashley (Campbell) and Tyler Woitzel, Anthony (Jane Elizabeth) Martin, Ellie Kay (Campbell) and Tyson Winter, and Annie Beth Campbell; brother John Chadwell, Sr., and niece Christine Chadwell.
A memorial service will be held at 9:30 am, on Monday, November 22, at Sacred Heart Church, Raleigh, North Carolina, Rev. Pius Wekesa, presiding. Interment and celebration of life will be held at a later date in Omaha, Nebraska.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in David's honor to Transitions Life Care, 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC, or Humane Society of the Lakes (Detroit Lakes, MN).
