Cooper Michael Smith

Our family regretfully announces the unexpected passing of our beloved Cooper Michael Smith. Cooper was called home on Friday, November 15th, 2024. Born on October 18th, 2021, to parents Daniel Berry Smith and Nicolena Funari Smith, Cooper’s life on this Earth was cut painfully short, but he managed to leave an indelible mark on not just our hearts, but on everyone he encountered.

Cooper’s joy for life was contagious and he loved being with his friends and family. His smile alone could light up the darkest of rooms. Not a day passed, during his short life, that Cooper allowed his size to define his spirit. He was a fearless explorer, always ready for the next adventure.

Cooper’s memory will forever be cherished by his parents, Daniel and Nicolena; older brother, Grayson Smith; grandparents, Buzzy and Missy Smith of North Myrtle Beach, SC; Michael and Cathy Funari of Apex, NC; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 10 am on Saturday, November 23, 2024 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church,11401 Leesville Rd. Raleigh, NC, 27613.

Committal Service immediately following at Raleigh Memorial Park, 7501 Glenwood Ave. Raleigh, NC, 27612.

Celebration of Life reception will be held at 12:30 pm at The Hasentree Club, 7305 Village Club Dr. Wake Forest, NC, 27587.
