Born September 4, 1939, in Chaney, VA. She passed peacefully with her family by her side on Thursday, November 24, 2023.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lena Osborne Walker and Nathaniel Henry Walker of South Boston, Virginia.
Surviving is her son, David Larry Williams of Raleigh, NC, daughter, Kimberly W. Overton of Raleigh, NC, and Wright Overton, Jr., of Zebulon, NC.
After 43 years, Clara retired from KPMG and was best known as "The person who is always sunshine and rainbows that could brighten your day with just a smile and a hug." She was loved by all who met and knew her.
Clara's life centered around her family who were her world.
Later in life, she was an avid square dancer, enjoyed traveling, and her sweet four-legged pets: Pretty Lady, Bandit, and Mia. She enjoyed having fun and laughing with those around her.
She gained so many friends after retiring who always looked forward to her wisdom, conversation, and smiles during her daily walks with her sweet pets.
The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and staff in the ICU Unit at Duke Raleigh Hospital, especially Rebecca, Lindsay, and Dr. S. Their kindness and care meant so much to her and the family.
A very special thank you is extended to the many friends who supported the family during these difficult times, particularly the Whitehall Community.
In the final stages of her life, Clara wrote messages to her dear friends who supported her and the family - she always put others first.
