Chris and I went to WVU together…. I just heard the news…. Chris was hysterical!  His charismatic charm will be missed!  Rest In Peace Chris.

Ike, I am so sorry to hear of your loss.    If I remember correctly, his photo favored you and maybe had your eyes.  A very handsome young man!  I am so sorry.

I had the privilege of growing up on the same street as the McVeys and, while I spent many an afternoon at their home playing sports and games with Shad, Jared, and others in the cul-de-sac, what I remember most is a very simple thing. Shad gave Jared and I a ride to school every morning during Jared and my freshman year at Broughton High School. This required little effort on his part, as my house was on the way out of the neighborhood, but the impact was significant. Through this I got a chance to experience Shad's joyous personality and wit.  To this day I remember these car rides as being filled with humor, camaraderie, blaring music and a PA system used to hilarious effect in the Broughton parking lot. All of these things greatly eased the anxiety of starting at a new school and for that, Shad, thank you so much. I have no doubt that this tiny example was indicative of so many others that were shared with those in your life. 

Chris, you will be missed so much here in our team. I am proud to have had the privilege to spend more than five years working with you and simply to know you.  You were such a personal and likable man. Your intelligence showed through your many accomplishments. You were just an all around super human being.

I never had the pleasure of meeting Shad. I only knew him through the eyes of his mother, so I know he was treasured and a much loved son. My condolences to the family during this difficult time.

Words can't express how saddened I was to hear of Chris passing. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to work with him. He will not be forgotten.  My deepest condolences to his family.

Chris was an amazing person to work with. He always knew how to make your day better. He would take on any challenge we had in reporting with a truly optimistic approach. I am going to miss our Wednesday calls. He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered. My prayers are with his family and friends as they grieve. 

Shad you were like a brother to me growing up. All the family vacations that you went out  with us to the beach will always be cherished. I’m glad we reconnected over the past few years and was always nice to catch up and talk WVU sports. I send My love and prayers to your wife and to your folks as the mourn your loss. I love ya friend. I’ll miss you.

This is Saumya from India. I worked with him for almost 2.5 years.
Working with Chris was altogether a different experience. He was a remarkable and a wonderful person. His leadership was one of its kind. We lost him far too soon. This loss is so huge and irrecoverable. He will be greatly missed and everyone here is saddened by his death. Know that our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends during this difficult time.



Chris has always been a role model and a guide to all of us here in Bangalore, India Office and this news is definitely going to leave a vacuum in our life. He will remain in our Hearts and Memories forever.
