Carolyn Causey Phillips, age 80, passed away on Friday, November 26, 2021. She was a graduate of Bessemer High School in Greensboro, NC. Carolyn started her career at UNC-Greensboro, transferred to North Carolina State University and retired in 1999 after 30 years of service. She also worked part-time at NCSU until 2014.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents: Harvey Preston Causey and Nellie Gregory Causey; her sister: Linda C. Lucas; and her brothers: Wayne, Greg and David Causey. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Donald W. Phillips; daughters Rhonda P. Newton (Billy) and Doris P. Dalton; granddaughters, Allyssa and Jordan Newton and Abby Tredway (Scott) and great grandson, Kane.
Carolyn was a dedicated wife, mom, grandmother and employee. She loved to travel the world with family and friends. She enjoyed researching her extended family on Ancestry.com and playing cards with her girlfriends. She especially enjoyed summers with her granddaughters, as they were her “sunshines”.
The family would like to express our gratitude for the wonderful help and care given by Transitions LifeCare (Hospice), as well as her pulmonary doctors and nurses.
