John Blair Sullivan (referred to as Blair), age 67, of Raleigh, passed away on May 23, 2022. He was predeceased by his parents, Gloria and Robert Sullivan; his sister, Maureen Sullivan; and daughter, Heather Leigh Sullivan.
He is survived by his wife, Laurie Sullivan; his son, Jason Sullivan; his two beloved grandchildren, Brooklyn and Grayson Sullivan; and sisters: Deidre Horn, Sheila Coon (Butch), Patricia Leisy (Bob), Mary Ann Hathaway (Butch); and numerous nieces and nephews.
Blair was born in Ithaca and raised in Dryden, New York, graduating from Dryden Central High School. He attended his father’s alma mater, St. Bonaventure University in Olean, New York. He spent ten years in California prior to settling in North Carolina for the past 35 years. He had a long career in purchasing and was looking forward to retiring from Toshiba later this year.
Blair was an avid lover of sports which included the New York Yankees, Oakland/Las Vegas Raiders, Duke Basketball and Indy Racing. He loved his family dearly and enjoyed spending time with them at the Outer Banks. He also had a close knit group of friends including “the Picnic Clubbers.”
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation, the American Humane Society, or the Heather Leigh Sullivan Memorial Scholarship at Tompkins Cortland Community College in Cortland, New York.
