Betty Jean Phillips Gaster

Betty Jean Phillips Gaster, 84, died on Thursday 29 August 2024 surrounded by her family. She was born April 20, 1940, the youngest of three children to the late James and Zelda Phillips of Angier, NC. She married her husband Clyde T. Gaster, of 65 years, on December 20, 1959. They had three beautiful daughters: Teresa Sherron (Tim), Deborah Watkins (Danny) and Mandy Blanton (Eric), 9 grandchildren (Chani Pearson, Duncan Pearson, Cody Sherron, Daniel Watkins, Timothy Watkins, Skyler Blanton, Sierra Blanton, Reece Blanton and Payton Blanton), and 6 great-grandchildren.

She was an active member of Longview Baptist Church:; a member of the Raleigh Garden Club of NC; active in Smith-Bryan Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution and a new member of Colonial Dames of the 17th Century as a descendent of John West, who was Governor of Virginia 1635-37.

She was a loving and caring person, who always thought of others first. Her kindness was always recognized. She made sure her family got together on every holiday, and she remembered the little things that made everyone feel special. She will be truly missed.

Her family will receive friends from 11 to 12, Tuesday September 3, 2024, followed by the funeral ceremony at 12 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 1701 E Millbrook Rd, Raleigh, NC 27609. The service will be followed by interment in the Coats City Cemetery in Coats, NC.
