April Davis Person, 47, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at Rex Hospital. Born on December 9, 1968 in Durham, NC; she was the daughter of Andra Dickinson Davis and the late Thomas Michael Davis
April attended Cresset Christian Academy and graduated from Durham Technical Community College with a Paralegal Degree. April worked for Golden Corral immediately upon leaving college and then was hired by Cato, she went to work for Quintiles in 2010 as a Reg and Start-Up Specialist. She loved working there.
April's first passion was her daughter, Robin, and her son, Nathan. She supported them in their musical education and encouraged them to be the best they could be.
April loved the Lord, Jesus Christ and was baptized at 5 years old at Christian Assembly Church in Durham, NC where she attended most of her life. She reared Robin and Nathan to have that same love for Christ.
April's second passion was hot air ballooning. She crewed for pilots since she was 13 years old and became a crew chief. She touched many lives and was well loved in the ballooning community, in the work community and among all her friends and family. They all sum up April with comments about her sweet, sweet spirit.
She was also the go to girl for everyone close to her. If you told her about a need, she would say “I can make that happen,” and she would.
April is survived by her mother, by her daughter: Robin Person and fiancé River Barker, both of Durham; by her son: Nathan Person, of the home; by her sister Angela Davis, of Wilmington; and other family and many friends.
Family will receive friends on Saturday, July 9, 2016 from 10-11 am at Christian Assembly Church (5516 N. Roxboro Road in Durham). A celebration of April's Life officiated by Pastor Dub Karriker, will be held at 11 am at the church, followed by a reception.
Flowers are welcomed; however, memorials may be made to The Chapel Hill Ronald McDonald House where she stayed while Robin was undergoing surgery as an infant.
