Doris grew up Somerville, MA. As a young woman, Doris worked at Gillette in Boston, Massachusetts, where she met her future husband ‘Eddy’. Together they raised their four children in Braintree, Massachusetts, where she worked as a news correspondent for the Patriot Ledger, and had a very rewarding and enjoyable career as a Secretary in the Braintree Public Schools, from where she eventually retired.
Doris took great pride in her home and garden, which looked to be from the pages of a magazine. Doris enjoyed preparing meals and desserts with Eddy for their family, which were often gathered around the large dining table or out on the deck at their family home in Braintree, MA.
Upon retirement, Doris built her dream home with Eddy in Port Orange, FL, where family was always welcome to visit, and encouraged to stay. Doris loved visiting Daytona beach, shopping, and eating out at her favorite restaurants. Doris loved traveling, from the early days of long car rides, to the later years of tropical cruises with family and friends. In the evenings, you could always find Doris and Eddy in their favorite recliners on the sun porch, watching their game shows, Fox news, and rooting for the Red Sox. Doris was also an avid reader, and followed politics closely.
Doris A. Sears was predeceased by her parents Frank Shupes and Anna Max Wedgeworth, her loving husband of 72 years, Edwin J. Sears, and her sister: Karol.
