Vita Eugene John was a wonderful, dedicated, and beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She was born in Hinche, Haiti on May 2, 1945. She was the youngest child of Annoisa Alcante and Ira Eugene. She came to the United States in the 1980s to pursue the American Dream of creating a better life for her children and loved ones.
She was fond of education and provided opportunities for her children to attend college and obtain other advanced degrees. Vita also helped her relatives in Haiti and family members who also sought to pursue their dreams.
She graduated from Craan Business School in Haiti and was a Chief Office Administrator at Haiti's Department du Commerce. Vita was also a great cook and received a culinary degree from Haiti's Ecoles Des Arts Menagers De Petion-Ville Et De Bourdon.
Vita Eugene John believed in the power of prayer and in helping others. She enjoyed listening to music, dancing, and singing church hymns. Vita enjoyed TV shows, such as American Idol, Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, Family Feud, and others.
She is survived by her children, grandchildren, stepchildren, children-in-law, siblings, and many nieces, nephews, and extended relatives.
Vita will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
A visitation for Vita will be held Saturday, May 18, 2024 from 8:15 AM to 10:15 AM at R. Stutzmann & Son, 224 39 Jamaica Ave, Queens Village, NY 11428. A funeral mass will occur Saturday, May 18, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Immaculate Conception R.C.C, 8645 Edgerton Blvd, Jamaica Estates, NY 11432. A cremation will occur Saturday, May 18, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at All Souls Chapel and Crematory, 72-02 Astoria Blvd S, East Elmhurst, NY 11370.
