Julie Samedy was born on September 2, 1931 in Cap Haitian, Haiti to parents Mr. Robert and Mrs. Adina Samedy. Julie, the second eldest of her 9 siblings, helped raise her siblings along with her eldest brother Lucien Telusma in Port Au Prince, Haiti, due to the early passing of their parents. Julie embraced that great responsibility with a smile and never complained about it, because she had a heart of gold.
Julie was predeceased by her brothers, Lucien Telusma, Emille Samedy, Emanuel Samedy and sister, Maryse Samedy. Her remaining siblings Gerard (Yola), Josette Pietz (Ken), Marie Denise Balu (Jean Claude), Raymond (Ketly), George (Danielle).
Julie Samedy was a graduate of Ellie Dubois Ecole Outlier, and also taught at Ecole Central des Arts et Metiers Academic et Professionell, in Port au Prince. Julie Samedy met her sweetheart on January 7, 1957 at the same school where they both taught and went on to marry her husband Fritz Volmar.
Julie Volmar is survived by her husband Fritz Volmar, Daughters Yolanda Dorga (Pierre), Karyne Volmar, her 3 Grandchildren Patrick Gouraige, Casandra Dorga and Nathalie Hedberg (Joshua), and her 6 Great Grandchildren Joshia, Gabriel, Audrey, Naomi and Chloe.
Mom, you will forever live in my heart. We love you Mommy, Nainaine, Joujoule, Mommy Julie and Grandma forever.
Funeral Arrangements. A viewing for Julie will be held Tuesday, May 23, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at R. Stutzmann & Son, 224-39 Jamaica Ave, Queens Village, NY 11428. A funeral mass will occur Wednesday, May 24, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Joachim & Anne R.C. Church, 218-27 Hollis Avenue, Queens Village, NY 11427. A committal service will occur Wednesday, May 24, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Pinelawn Memorial Park, 2030 Wellwood Avenue, Farmingdale, NY 11735.
