BERGEN-John James, Jr., of Glen Oaks, NY in the early morning hours of December 17, 2012 in his 85th year. Beloved brother of Mildred C. Kelly and Ann Marie Higgins. Survived by several loving nieces and nephews. A retired Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company employee of 40 years and a Veteran of the US Navy, he was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8052. Those who preceded him in death include his parents, John James, Sr. and Mildred Claire (nee McGraw) and sister Doris M. Bergen. Reposing at R. Stutzmann & Son Funeral Home, 224-39 Jamaica Ave, Queens Village, NY on Wednesday, 8:30-10:30 AM. Funeral Mass, Wednesday, 11:15 AM, Our Lady of the Snows Roman Catholic Church, Floral Park, NY. Interment following Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton, NY. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
