Loved Mr. Hill - amazing man and incredible legacy!  Love Shawna Larsen Straub.

Mr. Hill's Family,  
  I Loved him and have thought about several time through the years.  My family and I are from Lake Tapps. So we all went through Dieringer. I am the youngest of the Smith family kids that were in Dieringer 1962-1976. 5 boys and 1 girl (me).  I will try to make this story short...when I was in Kindergarten, I stayed out past the recess bell and wanted to play. The recess persontook me in to the principal (your dad) and I thought I was dead.  I sobbed and sobbed and Mr. Hill picked me up and put me on his lap and lovingly talked to me until I stopped. I remember thinking he was the nicest guy n the whole wide world. 
  I loved and respected him forever. I started driving school bus at Dieringer so was able to see him speratically through the years. I always got a beautiful smile and hug from him and laughed about precious memories. As I look back, I may have been one of the first students to have recieved the "Carl D. Hill Music Award"
  Now after all these years I work for Auburn Schools at an Elementary school. I laugh because I am now one of  those "recess persons" that sends students to the principal.   
    I just found out about Mr. Hills passing or I would have been there for the service.   My condolences to all of the Hill family.

Dear Alice, Christine, and David.  My memories of your Family are dear and I treasure the loving relationship I had with your parents and you, their children! You know how I love music and I'm so grateful for all the times I sang under the direction of your Dad, Those were wonderful, fun, great times!  Behold the Man was one of my very favorites!! I'm thrilled for your Mom and Dad that they're together again.  That must have been one terrific reunion!  May you feel the Love of our Savior and Heavenly Father as you move through this time of mourning and remembering and cherishing your Dad.  Love, Loretta Haynie-Fulk

So sorry to hear about this. He was such a kind and wonderful man. My deepest and most sincere condolences to the Hill family.

We love Uncle Carl and Aunt Helen.  We have so many wonderful memories with your family and holiday times.  Thank you so much for including our family for so many years.  We are also happy that they are finally reunited again.  May you find peace and comfort and happiness knowing they were such a great example of Christ like people.  Love, Wardles

Recalling all our memories of him and too many to count. He and Helen were went one of our dearest friends and we frequently stopped by their house until they moved to Sumner. I still purposely drive down the street where he and Helen previously lived to reflect on our comings and goings. One memory was when they would go on trips they would ask Ted to take care of their lab. Ted  figured he needed extra exercise and would tie a long rope to his collar, hang it after out his car window and let him run down the road as he drove the car.  
Carl hired me to teach at Dieringer when I needed a job and he hired Ted to be his Maintenance Administrator when he returned from Vietnam.  Always our faithful friend and Home Teacher.
