Virginia M. Pritchard (Jeannie), 79, of Pueblo, Colorado passed away September 18th, 2021 at Parkview Hospital in Pueblo. Born in Walsenburg, CO, she was the daughter of Anna and Carl Nigro. She graduated from Pueblo South High School in 1960.
Jeannie met her husband, Glenn Pritchard, at the Pueblo Bowl-O-Mat, while they were both employed there. They shared 59 years of marriage together. She was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother who helped Glenn raise his three children (2 boys and a girl) from a prior marriage. They also had a son together.
After raising her children, Jeannie worked at Pueblo West Middle School as the school secretary until she retired after 12 years with the district. When she retired, the Pueblo Chieftain wrote a story about her titled “Friend to All”. That described her perfectly, she always had a smile on her face and treated everyone she met with kindness.
Jeannie enjoyed travelling and spending time with her friends and family. Her travels took her to all 50 states (Alaska twice, once by plane, once by car). Not long after she retired, she and Glenn spent 6 weeks exploring Australia and New Zealand. In her mid-70s, she finally accomplished a lifelong desire to visit Europe, taking a Mediterranean Cruise with her Granddaughter.
Jeannie is survived by her spouse Glenn Pritchard, sister Loretta Pachorek (Stan), brother Frank Nigro. She is also survived by children Heidi Wu, Randy Pritchard, and Michael Pritchard (Kim) and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The memorial gathering will be held on October 16th, 2021 and friends and family are invited to show up anytime between 1 – 4 PM at T.G. McCarthy Funeral Home.
Memorial donations/in lieu of flowers, may be made to St. Jude. (https://www.stjude.org)
