Vernon Leigh Blanton, 80, of Pueblo, passed away on December 1, 2021, of Covid. Vern was born on July 14, 1941, to C.B. and Doris Blanton in Walsenburg, Colorado. He was employed as a lineman at San Isabel Electric Association for 47 years until his retirement. He loved to read about the American West, going antique collecting, and spending time with his friends.
He is preceded in death by his wife Doris Ann Blanton. Vernon is survived by brother, Douglas Blanton (Honolulu), his son Wesley (Elizabeth) Blanton of Rye, daughter Ginger (Jim) Case of Broomfield, stepchildren Maria (Mike) Ribarich and Glenn DePietro of Pueblo; his grandchildren, Kimberly Blanton, Joshua Blanton, Meghan, Mallory Case and Elizabeth Hafer (Scott); Matthew, Anthony (Alexandra), Kevin, and Hannah Ribarich, Kyle Cabibi-DePietro and numerous great grandchildren.
A private gravesite service will be held on Thursday, December 9, 2021, at 2:00 pm at Imperial Memorial Garden. A memorial service to celebrate Vernon’s life will occur later.
