Trent Alexander Durbin, beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend, was born on January 11, 1992 and transitioned from this world on April 7, 2020. A native Virginian, Trent spent his childhood years in Northern Virginia, and moved to Colorado at the age of 21. He was a loving son, his sister’s hero, a steadfast friend, and an inspiration to many.
Trent was passionate, intelligent, compassionate, funny, and had an unmatched wit. He had a booming, infectious laugh, a photographic memory, and a magnetic personality. He despised organized sports, organized religion, politics, and every other thing that he felt robbed people of their individuality and freedom of self-expression. He preferred to do his own thing, his own way.
Since the age of 5, gaming was Trent’s greatest passion. The gaming environment provided him with a safe avenue to freely express his often misunderstood, uninhibited personality. Trent turned his passion for gaming into a career and created a community through his “Praise the Sun” live streams. Trent cultivated a safe and welcoming space where his followers could feel understood, accepted, and free to just be themselves. His legacy lives on in the “Praise the Sun” family. Members have created a new stream “Praise the Legacy” to honor his spirit, and continue to bond through memories of Trent’s humor, candor, and empathy. His ability to make such a pure and empowering impact on so many people is a testament to the beauty of Trent’s spirit.
Trent is mourned by his mother, Renee Moore; his sister, Kira Durbin; his grandmother, Alberta Brown; his Aunt, Regina Moore; his cousins Lena, Sophia, and Makonnen; his friends; and his Praise the Sun family. We miss his quirky humor, his compassion, his genius, and his love.
Trent is at peace in the Garden of the Gods, a fitting resting place for such a beautiful spirit.
