Sidney A. Huene

Sidney A. Huene, 80, passed away August 13, 2013. Sid was born in Deadwood, South Dakota. He grew up spending the summers working on his uncle’s ranch, where he learned to ride. He got to where he would rather ride bareback; and his uncle said he rode like a wild Indian. Sid joined the Army in 1950, and served his country proudly. He was wounded in the Korean War, and received a Purple Heart. Sid married Jane Schukraft in Detroit, MI in 1954. They had two children, Geoffrey and Starlla. They were married 46 years before Jane’s passing. Sid joined the Air Force Reserves in 1973, and retired as a Master Sergeant in 1986. Sid moved to Colorado, and married Ruth Reno in 2003. Sid gained a large family that all fell in love with Him. Sid loved Karaoke, Texas Hold’ Em, cutting hay, riding his Harley and spending the winter in Arizona. Sid was baptized in 2003 at Mesa Christian Fellowship Bible Church, which he loved. Sid was an active member of American Legion Post 2, American Legion Riders, VFW, TREA, Elks, Eagles, GI Forum, NRA and the International Wood Carvers Association in Michigan. Sid will be missed by all of his Family and Friends. Viewing, 12-1 p.m.; followed by Funeral Service, 1 p.m., Saturday, August 17, 2013, at Mesa Christian Bible Church with Interment to follow at Verde Cemetery.
