Nick was my grandfather, but I always knew him as grandpo. When I was little he would take me out to the dunes in pueblo west in his off roading jeep (yes a famous part of us Lucero's is our love for jeeps ;) I had the opportunity to speak at his funeral but I didn't I wasn't sure what to say. It's been three years now and words still escape me, I had called one mothers day to wish my Great Grandma Rea a wonderful day and he was the one who answered I only realized after I recited my whole planned speech. As I've grown up more now though I have begun to realize how such a simple thing as someones missing presence can weigh so heavily so so many people. I wish I could have spent more time with him;        Malakai

My deepest sympathy to Nick's family and friends. I first met Nick in 1995 and liked him from day 1. He was a great business associate to my father and I while he worked for Kirkland Construction but above all he was a great friend to us both. I will miss seeing him running up and down the highway and the occasional times we would get to talk. You will be greatly missed by many my friend but never forgotten by anyone.

I worked with Nick when we were both employed with Kirkland Construction.  He was such a kind and loving individual and was always there to help.  He was a great listener and helped with advice.  He will be always be loved and greatly missed.  My thoughts and prayers are with his family.  May God help you through this difficult time.

My Dearest Reyecita, my heart goes out to you and Nick's family. It is still a shock to me that such a tragedy could befall such a wonderful man. I recall the days when Nina and I would play cards or Scrabble at your house and he lived with you. He was such a caring, loving son who would do anything for his Mama. He always made sure he checked in on you...a dear loving son, father, grandfather, brother, friend, and man. Then, he found his true love, my heart goes out to his new family as well. We met Nick when we first moved to Pueblo in 1996.  We spent time with him a many Wells Fargo events including dinners, Bronco and Rockies games and several golf outings. My heart is heavy . Nick was the best neighbor,  he recently helped me change an elderly neighbor's flat tire.
He tirelessly shoveled three elderly neighbor's driveways. 
He will leave a huge hole in my heart.

I had know Nick for many years through my work @ Wagner Equipment. No matter what kind of day he was having, he always greeted everyone with his amazing smile. My heart goes out to his family. 

We met Nick when we went to Cancun with him and  several others from Pueblo. He was very kind and caring to us. Looking out for us as if  we were his parents. We have not forgotten his thoughtfulness. We are very saddened to hear of his passing. Our condolences to his family. Juanita and Steve Mandel Colorado Springs, Colorado.

I used to cut Nick's hair.he was such a kind man.lots of laughs and always a smile on his face.he will be missed. Ride with Angels my friend. My condolences to his loving family. 

My heart hurts for Nicks family.  He was just a great guy,  when I would see him he always had a minute to catch up.   He always had a smile on that handsome face.  I know he loved his family.  Forever missed Nick Lucero.

as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends. 

He is preceded in death by his father Tomas Lucero Jr 
and grandson Lachlin Shaw Harper.
