Micheal “Mike” William Sturtevant was welcomed into heaven after a courageous battle with cancer on December 29, 2022. He will be remembered as a man of unwavering faith with an infectious laugh and a perpetual sense of optimism.
Mike was a true Pueblo native born on April 5th, 1955. He was a beloved life partner, father, stepfather, grandfather, uncle, friend, brother, colleague, and missionary. Mike’s love and light radiated across the world when he participated in missionary trips to Slovenia to share the gospel. He retired from the Department of Corrections after 19 years of loyal service. He loved traveling and being with his loved ones.
Surviving family include his devoted and loving life partner, Donna Jansson; stepdaughters Amber Freed, Kelsey (Brian) Piro; children Brian, Machelle (Christopher Timme), and Justin; grandchildren Makayla and Gavin Compton, Micheal and Brent, Dystinee, James, and Zackary Sturtevant; siblings; Terry Cody (Anthony Hardin), MaryAnn (James Clementi), and Richard and Robert Sturtevant; special cousin Sherrill Black, numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends including JoMarie (Brad Kimball), Larry Hrovate, and Cristal Mclaughlin (Warren). He joins his parents in heaven.
