Michael Gale Ratliff, 76, passed away March 7, 2024. He was born in West Plains, Missouri, on July 18, 1947, to Howard Gale Ratliff & Lola Kathleen Ratliff (Hensley). Michael was a Vietnam Air Force veteran and a retired family practice Doctor. He enjoyed hiking, camping, rafting, exploring, and any outdoor adventure. He loved westerns, especially Lonesome Dove. He enjoyed art, specifically western paintings, and could spend hours in galleries. He may not have had the green thumb that his father did, but he loved bright beautiful flowers. Michael was a conversationalist and loved to joke around and be silly. Any birthday or holiday card that he would purchase was from the funny section. He loved to laugh. He was a great storyteller and had many stories to tell since he was the “real Forrest Gump.” He was a hard worker and took pride in everything that he did. From growing up in Pueblo, to being drafted, working on a shrimp boat, and then to building his own clinic, he did everything to the best of his ability. When his wife became ill, he stayed by her side and was her rock. As a widower, he doted upon his daughter and gave her the best life he could provide. Michael had a big heart and he loved fully.
He is survived by his daughter, Sarah Ratliff. Michael touched many lives and will be remembered and deeply missed by all. Sincere thanks to his caregivers and Father Wisdom.
Visitation will be held at 9:30, Rosary will be held at 10:30am, and Service followed by Burial and Reception to be held at 11am. All will be held at Imperial Funeral Home, 5450 Hwy 78 West, Pueblo, CO 81005.
