Mary was born to E.L. and Mary Harrington on June 20, 1935, in Greenville, Michigan. Mary’s family moved to Colorado in the late 1930s. Upon graduating from high school Mary wed and began caring for her soon-to-be growing family. Mary loved God and raised her children to follow His Leadership in their lives. She lived a life dedicated to serving Christ through serving others. She was a caring, loving, wife and mother, concerned for the health, welfare, and happiness of her family and friends. Those that knew Mary recognize she was born to serve; striving to help those around her, ultimately making this world a better place. Given her gift of compassion and service, no one was surprised she ultimately served many Geriatric Care Clients.
In 1981 Mary wed Boyd Huffman and they were happily married until Boyd’s passing in 2014.
Beyond the love for her husband and family, she loved nature, the mountains, music, craftwork, especially crocheting. She was thrifty, creative, organized and always dependable. In her free time she enjoyed square-dancing, playing Canasta and playing the piano.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, grandson Joshua Lee Barrett, and her husband and love of her life; Boyd G. Huffman. Mary is survived by her four children: Roxie (Bruce) Barrett of Pueblo West, CO; Rae (Lisa) Rice of Edmond, OK; Robin Rice, of Pueblo, CO; and Rose Eve, of Colorado Springs, CO. Mary is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a host of family and friends.
