Marjorie M. Allen

Marjorie M. (Sorensen) (Giles) Allen, 78, October 5, 1934-March 18, 2013. Born at home to a family of thirteen in Platte County Nebraska to Anton and Lorraine Sorensen. She was preceded in death by three husbands; and one daughter. Marjorie is survived by numerous brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and their children. She is also survived by her daughter, Cynthia Giles (Roger Thomas); son, Rodney Dean; grandson, Mark Allen; step-grandson, Jeffery Thomas; along with her other stepchildren, their children and grandchildren. She had many friends and enjoyed their company.

After high school, Margie married in 1953 and spent her young adulthood in the California mountains, moved frequently, but loved Colorado most. In her later years she enjoyed touring and sightseeing throughout Colorado. Weekend excursions were her favorite, along with hamburgers and root beer floats, regardless of the weather. When indoors, she enjoyed old black and white TV shows and declared that the new color TV's brought nothing but trash and nudity. She refused to speak to an answering machine and did not own a credit card. She liked musicals, old country music, played piano and guitar and once said she could even play the accordion. Margie was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and will be missed as she follows her journey in peace with the Lord.
