Kimberly Kay Nakaguma (Panion) was born to John and Bettynell Panion on September 17, 1962, and accepted an invitation to dance with Jesus on September 9, 2022, a week shy of her 60th birthday. Her two great loves — husband Spencer and daughter Quincy — along with her sisters, Julia Thomas, Colleen Brauer and Suzanne Panion, and mother Bettynell Baros invite you to Kimberly’s Celebration Service at Agape Fellowship Church, 611 Broadway, Pueblo, on September 24th at 10am.
Kimberly grew up in Pueblo, was a member of Pride City as a clarinet player, then a baton-twirling majorette. She was a proud South High Colt, and still wears a sweatshirt from that illustrious institution.
She took a non-traditional route to getting her college education, with stops at Pueblo Community College, Northeastern Junior College in Sterling, and finally graduating Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s Degree from Regis University.
Following graduation, she took employment at Gerry Baby Products, where she was known for her passion and ability to get things done. She was selected as the Business Woman of the Year for the Metro North Denver Chamber of Commerce, and walked onto Coors Field as a top coordinator for United Way. She also met her future husband Spencer at the company, and they shared a distant, but very electric relationship until they finally dated….5 years later.
After moving east to Rhode Island, Kimberly was offered a position as the Executive Director for CARENET, a Christian Pregnancy center and her vision to expand the organization to a Women’s Health Center came to fruition shortly after returning to Pueblo. There, Kimberly and Spence received their bundle of joy, and named her Quincy. She also
found her calling as a Real Estate agent, passionately bled Keller Williams red, and was recognized as Pueblo Association of Realtors Rookie of the Year. She impacted many people — clients, co-workers and fellow agents, and was always recognized and respected for her faith, kindness and integrity in all business transactions.
Kimberly leaves behind the two loves of her life, husband Spencer and daughter Quincy. Additionally, her mother Betty Baros, sisters Julia Thomas, Colleen Brauer, and Suzanne Panion, along with nieces Brandie, Cortnie, Whitnie, Jamee, Jonna, Tiawna and Khannah; nephews Levi and Josh. She joins her father John Panion in Paradise.
As a child, Kimberly wanted to be a dancer. She is now dancing with Jesus — with that electric smile and infectious personality. We miss her, but we will see her again.
