A man loves his sweetheart the most, his wife the best, but his mother the longest~ proverb.
Our loving mother, Judith A Riggio, known to family and friends as Judy, passed away after a long illness on July 4th, 2022 at the Pikes Peak Care Center & Pikes Peak Hospice and Palliative Care.
Mom, Wife, Sister, Aunt and Friend ~ Judy will be dearly missed and we will forever carry her in our hearts.
Life has to end, she said. Love doesn’t. ~Mitch Albom
Judy was always quick with a smile and sure to offer kind words to all she met. Judy was a family first woman, evident in the three boys she raised with her husband Sam. Judy will also be missed by her grandson, niece, nephews and cousins who loved her dearly. Judy’s kindness brightened so many lives and even at the height of her pain, she still managed to deliver a smile. She was truly a treasure in this world and her sunshine will be missed.
Judy was born in Pueblo to parents Ruth and Angelo Rosolini; both parents preceded her in death along with husband of 58 years, Samuel Riggio (2019) and son Cary M. Riggio (2000). Judy leaves behind two sons, Mark (wife Annika); grandson Daniel; and Dean (Teri), brother Dennis Rosolini (wife Kathy) nephews Todd (wife Annette), and Chad (wife Valerie) Rosolini, sister Sue Kuhn (husband Leon), niece Michelle Hendershott (husband Brian), nephews Shawn and Doug (wife Jessica) Luttrell, nephews Jeff (wife Sherry), Gary (wife Denise) and Chad Musso.
During Judy’s youth, she attended and graduated high school at Pueblo Central High School, where she met her sweetheart Sam. Sam and Judy married at Our Lady of Hope, San Fernando Valley, California in 1961. They resided in Torrance, California and welcomed their first of three sons, Mark. Their beloved Colorado called them home and with a new job for her husband and their first-born son, they moved from California to Northglenn, where they welcomed their second and third sons, Dean and Cary, respectively. The family moved to Boulder where they enjoyed family life as their boys grew. Judy enjoyed the rewarding challenge of motherhood and the family made yearly trips around the boys’ school activities and family vacations.
After the children were raised, Sam and Judy relocated to their hometown of Pueblo, Colorado, to be closer to both Sam and Judy’s aging parents and their close-knit family. Family celebration trips continued to include Cripple Creek, D.C., Dallas and Vegas.
Judy’s faith never wavered and she enjoyed bible study and fellowship when her health allowed. She was an avid reader and Broncos' fan. Losing her husband Sam after 58 years of marriage, Judy relocated to Colorado Springs to be closer to her son Dean and partner Teri with care provided by Melody Living, St. Francis Medical Center, Pikes Peak Care Center and Pike’s Peak Hospice & Palliative Care.
Funeral Scriptural Services will be held at Our Lady of the Meadows Catholic Church on July 22nd, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. followed by interment at Roselawn Cemetery through T.G. McCarthy Funeral Home.
Whenever I am missing you, I also remember how fortunate I was that you were in my life. I wouldn’t trade those moments for the world. ~Cindy Adkins
