Jose Procopio Medina

Jose P. Medina, 89, passed away September 18, 2023. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Rena Medina. He is survived by his nine children Grace (Joe) Vigil of Albuquerque, NM, Joe Medina of Decatur,AL, Charlene Medina of Avon,CO, Beatrice Salazar of Pueblo,CO, Angel Medina of Pueblo,CO, Dennis (Kim) Medina of Florissant,CO, Margie Medina of Pueblo,CO, Brian (Yvette) Medina of Pueblo,CO, Julie (John) Trutwin of Monument,CO, fifteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Joe was born on April 8th, 1934, in Costilla, New Mexico to Adelina and Abenicio Medina. He was a brother to Pimenia, Sam, Eloy, Sadie, and Della.

In the late 1940’s he and his mother moved to Colorado to be with family. In 1956 he was drafted into the Army and was active for two years with four more years in the reserves.

Around 1958, he met the love of his life Rena, their dream of having a big family began. Jose was an excellent husband and father. He will be dearly missed.

Viewing 9 a.m. Rosary at 9:15 a.m. mass at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 28, 2023, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1145 S. Aspen Road Pueblo CO 81006. Interment at Imperial Memorial Gardens. Reception at Pueblo Eagles, 1615 South Prairie Avenue, Pueblo, CO,81005.
