Irene Marie Williams, 92, peacefully passed away March 27, 2019 in the presence of her family by her side. She was born August 15, 1926 in Two Inlets, Minnesota to John and Cecelia Eischens. She and her husband, Robert Dale Williams, moved to Pueblo in 1949. Her family had a history of helping the local community.
Irene was a nature enthusiast who loved the outdoors, enjoyed hiking, watching wildlife and viewing and smelling flower blooms. She enjoyed helping her two sons with their scouting merit badges and shared her vast knowledge of the outdoors with them.
She always had a project she was working on from jigsaw puzzles to family affairs. In her younger years she was active in the Episcopal Church of Ascension in Pueblo and cherished her church family. She worked and volunteered for several branches of the Public Library in Pueblo and for the SRDA, which gave her great joy.
She always wanted to learn something new, and at the age of 71 graduated from Pueblo Community College with an Associate’s Degree. She is survived by her three children, Robert, Daniel and Sandee Williams; her brothers, Jack and Bill Eischens; her sisters, Mary Lou Major, Delores Eckstrom and Carol Trenholm; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Celebration of life will be held Wednesday April 3, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Imperial Funeral Home Chapel located at 5450 Highway 78 West. Viewing will take place at 1:00 PM. She will be laid to rest with her late husband, Robert Dale Williams, at Imperial Memorial Gardens.
