Barbara Jean France Smith, 93, passed away March 8, 2024. She was the widow of Jim D. Smith; they shared 67 years of marriage together. Born in Norman, Oklahoma on June 7, 1930, she was the daughter of Ted and Juanita France. Barbara obtained her GED in 1960, and worked at Colorado State Hospital as a psychiatric technician for 9 years.
Barbara was a member of Pueblo First Church of the Nazarene, and enjoyed participating in various church activities. She will be remembered for hosting bible studies, and always being fun.
Barbara is survived by her children, Ron Smith and Brett Smith, 9 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in passing by her husband Jim D. Smith; daughter Raynae Wilkerson, grandson Randy J. Smith; and parents Ted and Juanita France.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, March 20, 2024 from 6-8 pm at Imperial Funeral Home, 5450 Hwy 78 West, Pueblo, Colorado 81005. Funeral Service will be held Thursday, March 21, 2024 at 10am at Pueblo First Church of the Nazarene, 84 Stanford Avenue, Pueblo, Colorado 81005. Barbara will be laid to rest at Imperial Memorial Gardens following the funeral.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sangre De Cristo Hospice or Pueblo First Church of the Nazarene in her name.
