Alice Quirico passed away at 92 years old at her home in Littleton, CO on January 11, 2024 after a long journey in the clutches of Alzheimer’s. She was born in Pueblo, CO on September, 5, 1931 to Dan and Jennie Quirico of St. Charles Mesa.
Alice graduated from Pleasant View High School, attended Pueblo Jr. College and graduated from CSCE, Greely where she received her BA an MA from UNC in Home Economics. She began her teaching career at Corwin Jr. High, in Pueblo then moved to Denver continuing her teaching career in the Denver Public Schools where she taught until she retired.
Alice is preceded in death by her parents Dan and Jennie Quirico, her sisters Rosemarie Buffalo, Dorothy Quirico, and Caroline Sikes, brother Daniel, brothers-in-laws Joe Buffalo, and Jack Sikes, sisters-in-laws Joan Quirico and Jane Quirico and great-nephew Cody Buffalo. She is survived by her sister Evelyn Rockett (Jerry), nephews (her bonus sons), Daren Rockett, Edward Rockett (Jodie), Jay Rockett (Priscilla), Tammy Rockett, Jodean Guay, Alvin Buffalo (Sherry), Calvin Buffalo (Kim), Danny Quirico (Bobbie), Becky Quirico and several other nephews, niece’s, great-nephews, great-nieces, cousins and friends. She was an accomplished seamstress, artist, and sculpturess and loved all the arts.
She will be greatly missed but her footprints will be forever imprinted on all of our hearts.
Services have been held in Denver and Pueblo, now Alice is resting in peace at Roselawn Cemetery.
