My sincere condolences to the family of Vaughn Smith.  I've known Vaughn since the third grade when we were in elementary school together.  Fast forward years later our daughters attended high school together. He was a lifelong friend of mine, and I will surely miss his smile, laughter and deep conversations. Rest easy my friend.

 My condolences to your children and family.  I don't know what to say, I'm at a loss for words. You've been on my mind for the last week, I've been wondering how you were and then I find this out.  Man... You've been my boy for years although we got on each others  nerves and even after years of not seeing each other it would be like no time lost when we did.  I am so sad to hear that you left us. This is such a great loss, you were an amazing person and an amazing friend  that was always there when I needed you. You helped me through some tough times  and I'll never forget it. I miss you so much.  I love you my friend. 

My deepest sympathies to Vaughn’s family, those I know and those I don’t. Vaughn and I had many conversations when we were young and he was fading me up, some great laughs and music listening sessions. As older men I got a chance to catch up with Vaughn a few time and discuss the Bible with him and life. He privileged me by sharing some deep feelings and thoughts he had, all while still making me laugh. He wasn’t just real, Vaughn was authentically himself. I’ll miss him for that, I’ll miss our discussions and I know my brother is at peace. You all are in my prayers and please accept my apologies for not being able to be there in person to support y’all. 



Makia, Benson, Oyediya and Ikema, my heart is broken over the sad news that Vaughn has died. Not to long before I left Rhode Island to move to Maryland, I bumped into Vaughn at Sonia’s on Park Ave. It was so nice to see him and talk to him for I hadn’t seen him in years. I pray that when Jehovah fulfills his promises of the resurrection that all of us will enjoy delightful conversations and times with him again ! You and the family are in my thoughts and prayers.

I’m going to miss having you as friend; hearing that boisterous laugh that you had as we always found humor in so many situations. Also really miss doing photography with you. I can remember when I mentioned it to you and the way you lit up about it because it was something that you had always wanted to do, our trips to local places forever trying to get the perfect picture. I wish you could’ve visited me in NM. We would’ve got some great photos out here.

Many years ago, with his finger, Vaughn sketched an image on the very dusty back window of my Nephew’s parked car.  The likeness was spot-on.  I was so impressed that I took this picture. 

I had the pleasure of experiencing my freshman year and sophomore year in the same home room with Vaughan at Mt. Pleasant High School.  After, moving back to Rhode Island around 2001 I  was able to reconnect with Vaughan again, because he worked at Verizon and I worked at Blue Cross and Blue Shield.  Vaughn always made me laugh, he had such a great personality. I’m sending condolences to his children and his entire family🙏

RIP Vaughn.  We had so many laughs and good times at Verizon. I was always amazed at how talented you were. We had a long string of practical jokes we played on each other.  One always more outrageous than the next. Condolences to the family.  

To the family I offer my sincere condolences.  I am so sorry for your loss.  Losing a loved one in death is never easy to take.  It is painful and causes great sadness that seems impossible to bear.   Friends and family members draw close and comfort e one another by sharing memories of Vaughn in the coming days, weeks, months.  His smile and sense of humor are what I will remember.  Grief has no expiration date; we learn to live without our loved ones, but the loss is always felt.  May you feel comfort from Jehovah, the God of all comfort, "while you throw all your anxiety on him, because he cares for you. " 1 Peter 5:7





The stories are endless and the laughs will forever be missed. We were more than co workers, you were one of my best friends. I will always remember all the stupid stuff we did together. I've missed you since you left work but always figured I'd see you again. I'll have to wait a bit longer for that now, see you on the other side Vaughn. I hope you know how much I value your friendship. My sincere condolences to all of his family and friends, especially his kids. It breaks my heart to write this, I love you buddy... your friend Jon

My sincere condolences to the family. Vaughn and I worked together at Verizon.  He was so smart and so talented. He loved singing in the hallways and the elevator. You could hear him on any floor, and boy could he sing. I told him he should try out for AGT. I bet he would of won. He is and will be surely missed by all who knew and loved him

Vaughn's mother was one of my best friends, so he was like a son to me. He never failed to make me laugh. However he was a very spiritual,  intellectual and business minded person.
