Robert D. Barra, 75, of Oaklawn Avenue, Cranston passed away on December 20, 2022 in Rhode Island Hospital. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Anthony and Anna (Vachon) Barra.
Robert was a bus driver for many many years for the RIPTA before retiring. Robert was an avid karaoke singer and known as the “Big Boppa”.
He was the father of Christina Russillo and her finance Gavin DeSouza and Juliana Larsen and her husband Eric and grandfather of Joseph Russillo and Maddalena and Ava Larsen. He was also the brother of the late Vincent and Richard Barra, Sandra Brocchi and Deanna Chirico and former of husband to Rosemary Barra and was the companion of the late Evelyn Smith.
His funeral and visitation will be held Thursday, December 29, 2022 at 10:00 AM in the ROMANO FUNERAL HOME, 627 Union Avenue, Providence followed by a Memorial Service in the funeral home at 11:00 AM. Burial to follow in St. Ann Cemetery.
