Raymond Ralph Tortorella

Raymond Ralph Tortorella, 88, of Pezzullo Street, Johnston passed away peacefully on May 26, 2023 in the HopeHealth Hospice Center, Providence. He was the beloved husband of Patricia (Santangini) Tortorella.

Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Vincenzo and Olivia (Crispino) Tortorella.

Ray worked for the City of Providence: Parks Department for over 25 years before retiring. He was also a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War, a member of the Local 1033 and was a die-hard New York Yankee fan.

He was the father of Vincent “Vinny” Tortorella, Raymond, Kenneth and Patrick Irwin, Laurie Hale, Lynn Cimaglia and Patrice Rocha; grandfather of 16 and great grandfather of 6. He was also the brother of Vincent Tortorella and the late Armando, Albert, Anna and Lena Tortorella and Dora Sinapi.

His funeral will be held Thursday, June 1, 2023 at 9:00 AM in the ROMANO FUNERAL HOME, 627 Union Avenue, Providence followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Holy Ghost Church, 1 Knight Street, Providence. Burial with Military Honors to follow in St. Ann Cemetery. VISITATION WEDNESDAY 4-7 PM.
