Paul E. McElroy

He was the husband of Catherine (Parmentier) Fochler-McElroy. Born in New York City, he was the son of the late Edward and Josephine (Weeks) McElroy.

He was the father of Daniel and David McElroy, James, Jr. and Kevin M. Fochler, Lori Santarpio and Melissa Harrington; 10 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; brother of Elizabeth Kremm and the late Robert McElroy.

Paul retired from Verizon in 1998. He was a member of the Audubon Society since high school and achieved the Save the Bay Volunteer of the Year Award in 1995. He was a board member of the Woonasquatucket and Moshassuck Watershed River Projects because of his love and compassion for the Earth.

Visitation will be held Thursday 4-7 p.m. A celebration of his life and funeral will be held Friday at 8:45 a.m. from the PONTARELLI-MARINO Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, 195 Walcott Street, Pawtucket.
