Smithfield Michael G. Angell, 56, of Smithfield, passed away on Tuesday, February, 6, 2018 in his home surrounded by love. Mike was a proud graduate of St. Pius School ('75) and Bishop Hendricken High School ('79) where he was a basketball standout and made many lifelong friends. Mike's happiest memories were spent playing basketball, fishing, running, at the racetrack, and on family vacations. Mike's wish is that you remember him as an incredible father, son, brother, uncle, friend, and the jokester that he was. Remember how he could make a whole room laugh (while he wouldn't even crack a smile); remember his smile and his jokes - the funny ones and the mean ones. Remember his charm, poise, and strength. Above all else, Mike would want his passing to inspire you to always support and forgive one another. He is survived by his daughter, and greatest accomplishment, Samantha Angell, his beloved parents, Gaythorne "Poochie" Angell and Carol Angell, his loving sister and brother, Lori Savickas (Joseph) and Richard Angell (Maria), four nephews: Richard, Joseph, Pucci, and Nicholas, and three nieces: Nicole, Victoria, and Kimberly, the mother of his child, Patricia (Doorley) Angell; and his incredible support team: Robert "Otto" Lennon, David Shiranian, Gail Charbonneau, Patricia Pacheco and too many loyal friends to mention. Please join us in celebrating Michael's life at visiting hours on Thursday, February 8th, from 2:00 - 6:00 pm, in the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, at 10:00 am, in Saint Pius V Church, Eaton Street, Providence, to which relatives and friends are invited. Burial will be in Swan Point Cemetery, Blackstone Boulevard, Providence. In lieu of flowers, donations to Ronald McDonald House, 45 Gay Street, Providence, RI 02905 in his memory will be appreciated.
