Maria Civita Paparelli

Maria Civita (DiBiase) Paparelli, age 94, passed away March 7, 2022 with her daughters by her side. Born in Itri, Italy, she moved to the United States 68 years ago and has been a resident of Rhode Island since then. She was a daughter of the late Michele and Maria (Agresti) DiBiase; beloved wife of the late Hildebrand Paparelli; loving mother of Maria Vessella and her husband Angelo, Clotilde Tomasso and her husband Raymond, and Clorinda Hannan; sister of Vittorio DiBiase and his wife Rosalba and the late Benedetto DiBiase, Alfiero DiBiase, and Antonia Elise (DiBiase) Molteni; cherished grandmother of Antonella Herrera, Stefania Gonzalez, Amanda Grandchamp, Kathryn Lloyd, and Michael Hardy; and great-grandmother of Maria, Alessio, Sofia, and Milan.

Prior to coming to America, Maria worked in the medical field in Italy. She was an accomplished seamstress and loved to make her daughters’ clothes when they were children. She worked for Jewel Case in Providence for 25 years before retiring.

Her daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were her whole life and they adored her. She will be greatly missed.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. in the St. Mary Church, 1525 Cranston St, Cranston. Burial will be private.
