M. Norma Dexter

WarwickM. Norma (Goodwin) Dexter, 75, of Sparrow Point 1, Hardig Road, died Wednesday at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center, surrounded by her loving family after a long and courageous battle with liver disease. Born in Providence, a daughter of the late John F. and Margaret E. (Levine) Goodwin, she lived in Warwick for the past twenty years, previously living in Cranston. Norma was a Licensed Practical Nurse in the Cardiac Care Unit, at Kent Memorial Hospital for twenty years, retiring in 1993. She was a graduate of Saint Patrick High School, Providence, and Rhode Island Junior College, Warwick. Mrs. Dexter was a communicant of Saint Gregory the Great Church. She leaves a daughter, Elizabeth A. "Beth" Dyson; four sons, Michael G. Maloney, John F. Maloney, James D. Maloney and Joseph R. Maloney; a sister, Louise G. Teeven; a brother, Alfred E. Goodwin; eighteen grandchildren and a great-granddaughter. She was a sister of the late Elizabeth G. Goodwin Lane, Margaret Goodwin, Norman Goodwin, Raymond J. Goodwin, Francis X. Goodwin, and John A. "Jack" Goodwin, (Ret. Cmdr. U.S. Navy). The funeral will be held Saturday, at 8:30 am, from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Road, (Rt.117 Exit 10A) Warwick. Concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Saint Gregory the Great Church, 360 Cowesett Road, Warwick. Burial will be in Saint Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket. Visiting hours Friday, 5 - 8 pm.
