Joseph Bonaminio Jr.

Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Joseph Bonaminio Sr. and Anna (Santaniello) Bonaminio and her husband Kenneth Parrillo.

Our beloved Joe is now performing magic tricks and illusions for all that have gone before us. He was for a time, a member of the international brotherhood of magicians (IBM). Being naturally outgoing and extroverted, his creativity, spontaneity, and self-confidence was sure to create humorous situations.

Joe grew up in North Providence and since 1993 has been a resident of Johnston.

Joe started his graphic design career by first having personal instruction and guidance from his brother in law, Greg Duchesne. He went on to attend the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) and has been a lifelong graphic designer. He opened his own website development company, Second Site Design, while continuing on work for MetCap Management for 30 years where he has gained a second family.

Joe had a love of riding motorcycles. He would go to Laconia yearly for the motorcycle rally as well as traveling to Florida for the Daytona Beach motorcycle rally. He would participate in the Torch Run yearly with his wife, Maryann Bonaminio, in celebration of the Special Olympics.

He greatly enjoyed outdoor activities such as camping with his family, canoeing, four wheeling, fishing, dirt biking, playing the guitar and building and flying small scale planes.

One of Joe's accomplishments that he was most proud of was acquiring his black belt in Jiu-jitsu under the direction of sensei Ron Russo.

Being a papa was most recently his focus of joy. There was always some adventure to embark on with his "beebs" Audriana. His pumpkin Aria was still too little to explore with. Joe's life full of adventure could not possibly fit in this tribute.

Last but not least, Joe was very fond of his little buddy, "Nut Nuts". A squirrel that became his friend for the past 5 years. Nut Nuts would come whenever Joe would call him, whether it was from the back deck or from all the way down the street, he would run to the house to sit on Joe's lap and eat peanuts from his hand.

Joe's life was full of love, creativity, and adventure. He is now on his next adventures and will be dearly missed here in the mortal world.

Besides his wife and mother, he is survived by his daughter Madison Bonaminio; son Alexander J. Bonaminio; granddaughters Audriana and Aria; siblings Thomas A. Ciolfi and his wife Catherine, Lisa A. Duchesne and her husband Gregory, and Jason J. Bonaminio and his wife Christina; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Jonathan J. Bonaminio.

His visitation will be held Wednesday, May 29, 2024 from 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. in the Pontarelli-Marino Home, 971 Branch Ave, Providence followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:30 p.m. in St. Anthony Church, 1413 Mineral Spring Ave, North Providence. Burial will be private.
