West Greenwich John J. Walsh, 78, of Pond View Court, died Monday at Miriam Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Jean (Clark) McArthur Walsh. Born in Central Falls, a son of the late Thomas F. and Gertrude (Ryan) Walsh, he lived in West Greenwich for the past ten years, previously living in Pawtucket. John was an electrician for the James J. O'Rourke Inc. electrical contractor for many years, retiring in 1994. He was a proud member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 99, for over fifty years. Beside his wife Jean, he leaves two daughters, Carolyn A. Parker and her husband Jeffrey, of Lake Bluff, Illinois, Kathleen A. Walsh of Cumberland; a stepdaughter, Nancy J. Snell and her husband Kenneth, of Mashpee, Massachusetts; a stepson, Stephen McArthur and his wife Mary, of Coventry; and six loving grandchildren, Jason and Christopher Parker, Kenneth Snell, Stephen, Courtney and Shannon McArthur. He was a brother of the late William Walsh and Mary Lizotte. The funeral service will be held Friday, at 10:00 am, in the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Road (Rt117) Warwick.
