Houston, Texas Flynn, Edwin Leo III, passed into the loving arms of God on February 23, 2012 after a long illness. He was born January 22, 1967 in Providence, Rhode Island. He grew up in Coventry and attended Bishop Hendricken High School. Ed graduated from MIT with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Meticulous and precise, he was well suited to be an engineer and worked his entire career for Foxboro/Invensys. He transferred to Houston in 1991 and being highly social, gravitated to sales. Most recently, Ed was the Director of Safety and Controls Product Sales.Ed was a devoted husband and father. One of his favorite traditions was taking the kids to Dunkin Donuts on Saturdays. He especially enjoyed sharing the joy and magic of Christmas. Never one to sit still, he was fond of frequent trips centered on family fun. He loved theme parks, anything Disney and all Boston sports. Ed also loved wearing Hawaiian shirts, listening to Jimmy Buffet and relaxing with friends. He is survived by his loving wife, Heather; daughter, Kaleigh; son, Ryan; parents, Mary and Edwin; siblings Kevin and wife Christine, Kerri and husband Mike, Jimmy and wife Liz and nephews and nieces Brendan, Aidan, Colleen, Caitlin and Kadie.His funeral will be held on Saturday at 8:30 am from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Rd. (route 117) Warwick. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am in SS. John and Paul Church, 341 South Main St., Coventry. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours, Friday 5-8 pmIn lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Give Kids the World, 210 South Bass Rd, Kissimmee, FL 34746, a charity giving ill children the chance to enjoy Orlando theme parks.
