East Greenwich Diane M. Maxwell, 77, of East Greenwich, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, September 27, 2016, at Rhode Island Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Everett V. Maxwell for the past fifty-seven years. Born in Providence, a daughter of the late James E. and Hope L. (Day) McDonald, she lived in Little Compton, East Northport, Long Island, New York and most recently East Greenwich. Diane was an Elementary School Teacher on Long Island, New York, at the Saint Anthony of Padua School, for fourteen years before retiring. She was a graduate of Rhode Island College. She was a lover of animals, especially her cat George. She also cherished her luncheons with her childhood friends and schoolmates. She will be remembered warmly by all those she touched. In addition to her husband Everett, she leaves a daughter, Diane R. Maxwell; three sons, James M. Maxwell, Christopher J. Maxwell and his wife Deborah, and Kevin P. Maxwell; four loving grandchildren, Jessica Rockman, Justin Turner, and Ryan and Alexandra Maxwell; and a "special" niece, Heather Mason, her husband Bob, and their children, Hope and Benjamin. The funeral will be held Saturday, at 8:45 am, from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Road, (Rt117) Warwick. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Saint Gregory Church, 360 Cowesett Road, Warwick. Burial will be private. Visiting hours Friday, 4:00 - 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to East Greenwich Free Library, 82 Peirce Street, East Greenwich, RI 02818 in her memory will be appreciated.
